Scenic Drive to Ngarchelong State- Babeldaob's Northernmost Point
Embarking on a scenic drive from Koror to Babeldaob, embrace the beauty of the surroundings as you travel along the picturesque route. Babeldaob's awe-inspiring landscapes will accompany you on this journey. As you navigate through the stunning scenery, you'll find yourself gradually approaching Babeldaob’s northernmost state, Ngarchelong State.
Discover Badrulchau and Todai
Your adventure continues as you explore the intriguing sites of Badrulchau and Todai in Ngarchelong State. These historical landmarks hold stories of the past and provide a glimpse into the island's heritage.
Visit the Badrulchau Stone Monoliths and walk through this ancient site containing the famous stone monoliths and plaza of carved faces in a savanna area surrounded by terraces. Found nowhere else in Palau, the site has been dated as far back as A.D. 161. The pillars are the remains of what could have been the largest meeting house ever built in Palau. The oral history stated that the structure was made entirely of stone by the gods.
Onto the next stop, take a stroll through the ancient Japanese lighthouse and remnants of World War II, all while soaking in a stunning view at none other than Todai. Ascend the timeworn staircases to reach the lighthouse and be greeted by an unforgettable sight. Don't forget to peer through the scenic telescopes for a closer look at the neighboring islands.

This ancient stone pier, proudly standing as the longest of its kind in Palau, is more than a mere structure. It stands as a testament to human ingenuity, having been constructed by the people of Melekeok without the aid of modern tools, and has withstood the test of time. Today, it is maintained by the Ngaramecherocher (Young Men’s Club) of Melekeok. Following a recent powerful typhoon, the Melekeok community and dedicated volunteers came together to rebuild the pier, showcasing the resilience, unity, and enduring spirit of the local people.
Take a leisurely stroll to the pier's very end and take in this living piece of history, basking in the warmth of the sunshine and the gentle caress of the breeze.
