In anticipation of the direct flights from Japan to Palau beginning on October 29, 2025, the Palau Visitors Authority proudly participated in Tourism Expo Japan 2025 in Aichi/Central Japan. The event provided an important platform for Palau to strengthen partnership and promote its industry within the Japanese Market.
The Palau delegation included representatives from United Airlines, Belau Tour, Palau Pacific Resort, Ocean Academy, WCTC, Cove Resort Palau, Impac Tours, Palau Central, and Palau Sunrise Sea View Hotel. Together, these companies showcased Palau’s premiere tourism product, including diving and marine adventures, cultural and heritage tours, and exclusive travel packages tailored for the Japan Market. A total of 1,350 businesses and organizations from 82 countries and regions attended the Tourism Expo Japan 2025 in Aichi, Central Japan from September 25 to September 28. Attracting 127,677 visitors to the Expo Village throughout the course of the four-day tourism expo.
To further tap into the Japanese market and attract more Japanese tourists to Palau, the Palau Visitors Authority, local tour companies, hotels and dive shops met with a number of Japanese-based businesses at the Palau booth. With United Airlines' new flight deals and direct flights from Japan to Palau, the Palau Booth also drew a lot of interested tourists and onlookers who wanted to learn about Palau and Experience the island's top diving spots, everything it has to offer in terms of land and cultural tours, and the rich history and relationship between Palau and Japan. This includes advertising a new manga film of the “Battle of Peleliu” that will be released in theaters throughout Japan on December 5, 2025.
Through continued collaboration with its tourism partners, the Palau Visitors Authority remains committed to enhance Palau’s visibility in the Japanese markets and promote Palau as a premier destination for leisure, diving and cultural tourism.
