A celebratory atmosphere filled the Palau International Airport as the first-ever United Airlines direct flight from Narita, Japan, arrived on October 29, 2025, carrying over a hundred excited travelers.
The aircraft was welcomed with a grand water cannon salute, followed by a vibrant display of Palauan hospitality. Visitors were greeted with the rhythms of traditional music and the graceful movements of cultural dancers. Among the arriving guests were President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., and United Airlines’ Vice President of Regulatory and Policy, Steve Morrissey.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in strengthening ties between Palau and Japan. United Airlines’ new route underscores its ongoing commitment to expanding connectivity and fostering deeper regional partnerships.
