This partnership aims to promote the sale of vacuum-packed, fresh, smoked skipjack at the BOFI Fish Market, Koror souvenir stores, and international airport. Each pack comes with a QR code linking to PVA's dedicated website, where you can learn more about this delicious fish, which is sustainably caught using pole-and-line and trolling methods.
But that’s not all—we are planning to offer the chance to board BOFI's skipjack fishing vessel, the BOFI-MARU, and experience offshore fishing firsthand, including pole-and-line and trolling for pelagic fish. This unique tourism program not only diversifies the use of the BOFI-MARU, but also provides an additional source of income for BOFI, while promoting the significance of offshore fishing and Palauan souvenirs made from fresh catches.
The project team will continue to work with PVA to promote the blue economy.
