Wrexpedition Palau

Feel the Weight of History Beneath the Waves. We're excited to present the 14th ANNUAL WREXPEDITION PALAU, organized by Fish 'n Fins, June 4-11, 2025.

This is your chance to explore 14 of Palau's most historically significant WWII shipwrecks, remnants of Operation Desecrate One, which dramatically altered the course of the Pacific conflict.

Over 15 dives, you'll witness:

  • The colossal Amatsu Maru, a 10,000-ton oil tanker, now a sprawling underwater museum, its massive structure adorned with coral and teeming with marine life.
  • The iconic Iro Wreck, a Japanese supply vessel, its massive propeller and bomb-damaged hull telling a powerful story of wartime destruction.
  • The shallow resting place of the Jake Seaplane, allowing for amazing views of this aircraft, that has become a vibrant coral encrusted habitat.

Each dive reveals a chapter of history, from twisted metal and forgotten cargo to the vibrant marine ecosystems that now call these wrecks home. Beyond the dives, evenings at Barracuda Restaurant offer enriching presentations:

  • Expert-led discussions on the strategic importance of Palau in WWII.
  • Detailed accounts of the ships' histories and their roles in the conflict.
  • Opportunities to connect with fellow divers and history buffs over dinner and drinks.

If you are a wreck diving enthusiast, or a person who has a love for history, this is an event you will not want to miss.
