Koror, Palau — The Palau Visitors Authority marked a significant milestone with its first-ever participation in the 40th International Travel Expo (ITE) Hong Kong 2026, held from June 11–14, 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Representing Palau at the expo were PVA Managing Director Kadoi Ruluked; Strategic Planning Department Manager Sharrise Ngiraked; Bureau of Tourism representatives Sambal Rekemel and Joseph Polloi; and Ms. Margaret Wicker from Palau Athletics. The delegation joined industry stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region to showcase Palau’s unique tourism offerings, with a focused emphasis on developing and promoting sports tourism.
PVA’s participation in ITE Hong Kong provided a strategic platform to engage with key travel trade partners, tour operators, and potential investors from the Asian market. As one of Asia’s leading travel expos, the event enabled Palau to position itself as an emerging destination for sports tourism, highlighting opportunities in ocean-based activities, endurance events, and culturally rooted sporting experiences.
Joining the exhibition booth allowed Palau to increase its visibility among high-value markets and strengthen regional partnerships. It also supported ongoing efforts to diversify Palau’s tourism sector while aligning with sustainable development goals and capacity management priorities.
PVA’s debut at ITE Hong Kong reflects its commitment to expanding market reach, fostering international collaboration, and promoting Palau as a dynamic destination for both leisure and sports tourism.
