Palau Visitors Authority Conducts Study Visit to the Cook Islands to Strengthen Tourism Development

The Palau Visitors Authority (PVA) successfully conducted a study visit to the Cook Islands in February 2026 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen Palau’s tourism sector through regional collaboration and knowledge exchange. The visit was made possible through the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The study visit provided valuable opportunities for PVA representatives to engage with tourism stakeholders and gain insights into how small island destinations address shared challenges, including resource management, visitor experience enhancement, and economic resilience. Through site visits, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants explored approaches and best practices that support sustainable tourism development.

The experience offered valuable perspectives that will help inform PVA’s ongoing initiatives to enhance Palau’s tourism strategies while preserving the nation’s unique cultural heritage and environmental resources. By learning from regional partners facing similar opportunities and challenges, PVA continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering a sustainable and resilient tourism industry for Palau.
