In 2025, Palau’s tourism sector reached a 76% recovery in arrival volume compared to pre-pandemic levels. While total volume has not yet fully recovered, the data indicates strategic market diversification and high-valued growth: the activation of the Australian market, the reactivation of Japan, and measured increases in arrivals from Europe and the USA. We are also observing notable shifts in traveler booking behaviors and length of stay, detailed in the data breakdown — all of which aligns with Palau’s National Sustainable Tourism Strategy.
We extend our warm appreciation to all tourism stakeholders, the Governments of the USA, Australia and Japan, JICA, and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation for their continued partnership, and look forward to reporting our 2026 data.
