Held at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, the 34th Annual Marine Diving Fair (MDF) reaffirmed its position as Asiaโ€™s largest scuba diving event, drawing an estimated 30,000 to 40,000 visitors over three days. Recognized as a premier platform for the diving and travel industry, the event brought together tourism boards, dive operators, marine conservation groups, and travel professionals from around the world.

The Palau Visitors Authority delegation included Mr. Kadoi Ruluked, Managing Director, Ms. Geena Gerald, Strategic Analyst, Ms. Mika Onodera, JICA Expert, and Mr. Tibey Ongalibang, Digital Marketing Representative. Together, the delegation showcased Palauโ€™s world-class diving experiences, strong commitment to sustainable tourism, and rich marine biodiversity.

Mr. Koji Yamamoto was officially appointed as Palauโ€™s Sports Tourism and Goodwill Ambassador for Cycling and Triathlon Events in the Japan market, supporting efforts to expand Palauโ€™s presence in sports tourism.

The Palau Visitors Authority met with the Japanese production team of Grand Blue Anime to explore a strategic partnership that will feature Palau as a destination in the upcoming anime series.

On the same day, the Palau Visitors Authority also met with its newly appointed Japan representative, AVIAREPS, to strengthen in-market representation and coordination.

Additionally, the Palau Visitors Authority met with Mr. Kuniharu Ebina, President of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), along with his team, to discuss the promotion of educational and sustainable tourism in Palau, including potential collaborations targeting student travel and long-stay programs.

These engagements reflect Palauโ€™s continued efforts to strengthen international partnerships, expand market reach, and position itself as a leading destination across both leisure and niche tourism segments.
