Palau Delegation Strengthens Cultural and Tourism Ties with Taiwan During Collaborative Visit

A delegation from Palau, led by Minister of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, and Development, Mr. Ngiraibelas Tmetuchl, recently visited Taiwan from November 29 to December 04, 2024.

The delegation, including key members of the Palau Visitors Authority such as Mr. Kadoi Ruluked, Managing Director, Ms. Katarina Mad, State & Community Programs Manager and Mr. Tibey Ongalibang, Digital Marketing Rep. participated in various events and cultural exchanges in Kaohsiung and Taitung.

During their visit, the delegation collaborated with the Taiwan Council of Indigenous People and the KHH Indigenous, Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government. They participated in a range of activities, including a visit to Taiwan's largest international commercial port, a tour of the Maolin Butterfly Trail, cultural experience at Deengore Guest House, a tour at Taitung National Museum of prehistory, a visit to Taitung Indigenous Cultural and Creative Industries, and a visit to Taitung County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau.

The delegation's visit kicked off with the Kaohsiung Winter International Travel Fair 2024, where Palau's stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and world-class diving spots were showcased to a large audience of potential visitors. The Palau booth offered attendees a glimpse of the island paradise, highlighting its unique attractions and warm hospitality.

  • Visit to Taitung County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau - Transforming Historic Buildings into Cultural Venues and Meetings with local government officials and indigenous communities.

Through these interactions, the Palau delegation aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Palau and Taiwan, as well as promote the island nation as a must-visit destination for Taiwanese travelers.
