Wages and Salary Tax Refund:
Palauan Dual Citizen Employees with Total Earnings of over $15,000 to $30,000 Citizenship Verification
The Bureau of Revenue & Taxation announces that Palauan citizen employees with dual citizenship, especially those born outside of Palau and earning between $15,000 and $30,000 in the calendar year 2023, are eligible for a refund of wages and salary tax withheld from the first $8,000 of wages paid.
Due to additional verification steps required to confirm citizenship, there may be a slight delay in processing these refunds. Consequently, your refund will not be available during the initial disbursement of wages and salary tax refunds scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024.
Required Verification:
To ensure the refund is provided to eligible individuals, we request that these citizen employees submit proof of citizenship for verification. Please visit the Bureau of Revenue & Taxation office at Ngesekes, Koror, with one of the following documents:
1. Republic of Palau-issued passport
2. Official Birth Certificate
3. Other documents proving your citizenship
Once your citizenship and the filing of your W2 by your employer have been confirmed, we will begin processing your refund and provide you with an estimated disbursement date.
