The Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism and Development (MHRCTD), through the Bureau of Development, is pleased to announce the launch of Phase 2 of Palau’s Public Bus Service, beginning April 3.
Building on the success of Phase 1, this expansion introduces enhanced services aimed at improving accessibility, connectivity, and convenience for residents and visitors across Palau.
What’s New in Phase 2
1. More Frequent Service in Koror
- Buses run every 50–60 minutes
- Easier access for shopping, dining, and hospital visits
2. Improved Access from Babeldaob
- Additional morning and evening trips between Melekeok and Koror
- Extended service reaching Sunrise Hotel
- More convenient daily commuting between states
3. Government Payday Evening Buses
- Extended evening routes available on government paydays
- Supports night travel, outings, and events
- Promotes safe and reliable transportation at night
4. Bus Mobile App Development
- Access routes and timetables via smartphone
- Plan trips easily and stay updated in real-time
Towards Sustainable Transport
Phase 2 supports Palau’s long-term sustainability goals by:
- Reducing dependency on private vehicles
- Promoting an eco-friendly transportation system
- Improving accessibility for both residents and tourists

- $1 – $3 per ride
