The Palau Visitors Authority (PVA) is pleased to announce that there will be a Night Market on Friday, February 16th at Ernguul Central Park from 5-9pm.
Following the tradition of PVA's Night Markets, there will be live band entertainment, dance performances, sales of tasty cuisine, handicrafts and gift ideas. Demonstrations for Palauan arts will include weaving by Remurang Renguul of Ngardmau State and coconut husking by Ngara Ubeng Non-profit Organization. The Polynesian Dancers will once again grace the Ernguul Park stage, along with other performers and musicians. More information will be posted on the Pristine Paradise Palau Facebook page so stay tuned! If you happened to have missed the February 2nd Night Market, videos from those performances are posted on this page.
The night markets are an opportunity for small local businesses to display and sell their products and for visitors to mingle with locals and try specialty foods. During the 2017 fiscal year night markets, over $145,000 in total sales was made in 22 night markets by 457 vendors. For the February 2nd Night Market, a total of $5,616.00 in sales was made. Space is limited, so reserve your table early if you would like to sell and display your products. The deadline to sign up for a table at the Night Market is Thursday before 5:00pm at the PVA Office in Medalaii. If you and your group have a budding talent and would like to perform at future Night Markets, please contact Kate Mad at 488-1930/2793.
