Japanese Artist Brings Color to Palau Airport

President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr. recently welcomed renowned mural artist Mr. Miyazaki Kensuke at the Palau International Airport. Mr. Miyazaki is creating stunning murals in the airport’s departure and arrival lobbies as part of this year’s celebration of the 30th anniversary of official diplomatic relations between Palau and Japan.

Since arriving in early July, Mr. Miyazaki has immersed himself in the local community, conducting four workshops with residents and young artists from local elementary schools. His impressive body of work, which includes numerous murals commissioned by Japanese companies and government offices, has earned him international acclaim.

By choosing Palau for his annual international mural project, Mr. Miyazaki aims to not only enhance the beauty of our country but also attract more visitors. We eagerly anticipate the completion of his artwork!
