3rd Independence Day Baseball Classic

Ms. Belau Pageant

Olechotel Belau Fair

The "Olechotel Belau Fair" is an annual celebration typically held during the week of October 24th. However, this year, it coincides with our Independence Day festivities. This grand event serves as a platform for all 16 states to proudly display their rich cultural heritage through captivating performances. These cultural showcases encompass a diverse array of traditions, including Delal a Ngloik, Ruk, Boid Osakou, Chesols, Rebetii, Delang, Derabechesiil, Keskes er a rengalek, and Contemporary Dance. The Olechotel Belau Fair is a collaborative effort, led by the Organizing Committee in partnership with the respective state governments, reflecting the unity and cultural diversity of our beloved Palau.

Kickoff for October breast cancer awareness month
The 5K Walk/Run event is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of the people of the Republic of Palau. Specifically, this event places a significant focus on raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed throughout the month of October. Organized collaboratively by the Organizing Committee, Palau Track and Field Association, and the Non-Communicable Disease team, this event stands as a collective effort to encourage physical fitness and contribute to the important cause of breast cancer awareness.
Walkathon Route
Start your journey at the Japan Palau Friendship Bridge in Koror, Palau. Walk to Katey's Healing Garden and then head back to the Japan Palau Friendship Bridge to complete the 5K Walkathon. Click here for routes.

Independence Day Opening Ceremony

The 29th Independence Day ceremony of the Republic of Palau is set to commence on the morning of October 1, 2023. During this solemn ceremony, distinguished officials will deliver their remarks, underscoring the significance of this momentous occasion for our nation. Additionally, the ceremony will feature a special unveiling, showcasing the 16 States' cultural sites through a series of commemorative postage stamps, further celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of Palau.

In collaboration with the BOATERS Association, the Boat Race has become a prominent fixture in our Independence Day celebration.
